The Young Center

It is our great pleasure to introduce you to…

The Young Center

Every year tens of thousands of children, 13 and younger, are either turned around at the border from entering into the United States or even jailed and tried as adults before a judge without any legal or guardian representation.

We at CHIMMI are proud to highlight The Young Center, one of the first non-profit organizations we are donating 10% of our profits to this quarter. We chose The Young Center because of the work they are doing to help immigrants, particularly immigrant children. This resonated with us especially since we ourselves come from immigrant families.

The Young Center, based in Chicago, advocates for the rights and best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children.  Their foundation is guided by the principles of UNICEF’s Convention of the Rights of the Child of which the United States is a signatory.

The Young Center not only provides Child Advocates for those children who are running from abuse and/or to join family members who are already in the United States but also works toward reforming the immigration system for children. They conduct policy advocacy at the federal level working with Congress and other federal agencies to incorporate the best interests of children into practice, policy and immigration law.
